Grand National: Looking ahead to Ladies Day and Grand National Day

Excitement is building ahead of the 2025 Grand National, and there is plenty of entertaining action to come on Ladies Day and on the much anticipated Grand National Day this year.

Horse Racing fans are in for a treat with the number of iconic events set to arrive in quick succession over the next few months, with one, in particular, being the highly prestigious 2025 Grand National, which is set to take place once again at the historic Aintree Racecourse. The action is set to take place over three days, from Thursday 3rd April to Saturday 5th April 2025.

Each day has something memorable about it, but Ladies Day and the highly anticipated Grand National Day are two of the standout days for any racegoer who is heading for the Aintree Grand National on an annual basis.

Here, we are going to be taking a look ahead of both of these particularly special days of action at Aintree, starting with the highly prestigious Ladies’ Day, which is set to take place first on Friday 4th April 2025.

Ladies’ Day is unforgettable each year. It is a social and fashion haven with a vibrant atmosphere. Of course, the annual Style Awards will return in 2025, with the best-dressed getting the limelight, just like the horses, trainers, and jockeys will over the course of this fantastic day.

Over the day, there will be no less than seven races taking place on Ladies Day 2025, which are as follows: Huyton Asphalt Franny Blennerhassett Memorial Mildmay Novices’ Chase (13:45), William Hill Handicap Hurdle (14:20), Trustatrader Top Novices’ Hurdle (14:55), My Pension Expert Melling Chase (15:30), Randox Supporting Prostate Cancer UK Topham Handicap Chase (16:05), Sefton Novices’ Hurdle (16:40), and the Hallgarten And Novum Wines Handicap Hurdle (17:15).

There are a plethora of Grade One Races taking place on this particular day, and there is the Topham Handicap Chase, which stands out as a thrilling race that sees horses take on those famous Aintree Grand National fences. The most recent winner of this race in 2024 was Arizona Cardinal, with the Stuart Edmunds trained horse being ridden to victory in the end by Jockey Ciaran Gethings.

The highly coveted Grand National Day is a day that always brings with it a substantial amount of prestige, with it being famous for the annual Randox Grand National Handicap Chase race, which is the most famous steeplechase on planet Earth.
