Ex-Leicester City Boss Enzo Maresca will take over at the Blues as Chelsea’s new Head Coach following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine led the West London outfit to a 5th place finish, where, with 63 points, they secured qualification for the 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League after Manchester United were victorious against their cross-city rivals Manchester City in the 2024 FA Cup Final at Wembley.

Incoming Head Coach Maresca led Leicester in the 2023/24 season, their first back in the second tier since relegation the season before. The Italian managed to lead the Foxes to the EFL Championship League title, after his side accumulated a sensational total of 97 points from their 46 matches in total in England’s second tier.

Moving on to Brentford, current Head Coach Thomas Frank took over on 16th October 2018, succeeding Dean Smith, who had departed for Aston Villa. The Dane then went on to lead the Bees to promotion to the Premier League after beating Swansea City 2 – 0 in the 2020/21 EFL Championship Play-Off Final. They have remained in the English top flight ever since, and last season (2023/24) they ended up with a 16th place finish after accumulating a total of 39 points from their 38 matches.

These two London rivals have faced each other in a competitive fixture 21 times over the years, and the Blues have the superior record of 10 wins compared to the Bees’ total of 7. There have been 4 draws between them to date.
