Chelsea take on Noah in this UEFA Conference League – League Stage fixture at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea, led by their Italian Head Coach Enzo Maresca, will face Armenian Club Noah in the League Phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League at Stamford Bridge in West London. The Blues are among the leading contenders to win the whole competition, and victory here definitely boosts their chances of doing so.

Chelsea has never played in this competition before, but they have an excellent track record for European silverware over their illustrious history. The club has so far won the UEFA Champions League twice (2011/12 & 2020/21), the UEFA Europa League twice (2012/13 & 2018/19), the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup on two occasions, and the prestigious UEFA Super Cup twice (1998 & 2021).

A winning goal from Kai Havertz in the latter stages of the first half (42’) was enough to secure a historic 1 – 0 victory in the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final against fellow English Premier League heavyweights in the form of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. The game had been played at the home of Portuguese Giants FC Porto, the Estadio do Drago.

2021 was a very successful year for Chelsea, with them also winning that year’s UEFA Super Cup thanks to a 6 – 5 victory on penalties after goals from Hakim Ziyech and Gerard Moreno saw the game end in a 1 – 1 draw before the tense penalty shootout to decide the game.

FC Noah is a top-flight club in Armenia, founded just seven years ago in 2017. Although they have never won a European Competition, they played in the UEFA Conference League before, back in 2021/22, when they exited the competition at the First Qualifying Stage.

Therefore, the League Phase of this season’s competition is the furthest the club has ever reached in the UEFA Conference League.

This game will see Chelsea take on Noah for the first time in either club’s history. It is going to be a historic occasion for both teams, with the Blues, looking to establish themselves as one of the favourites to win this competition in the League Phase.
