Most creative Premier League players this season
The Premier League is home to some of the most creative players in the world of football, and here we take a look at the players who have got the most assists in the English top flight so far.
It is a fact in football that no goal happens without an assist. A lot of goals have been scored in the Premier League, and all will have had someone passing to the eventual goal scorer. The English top flight has been home to some of the best passers and creators in the world and the history of the sport of football over the years.
If we look back at legends of the Premier League who were world class creators, only 2 players in the top ten all-time assists since 1992 are still playing today – Kevin De Bruyne (102) and James Milner (88). De Bruyne is level with Frank Lampard, whilst Milner has more Premier League assists than David Beckham (80) and the Englishman is only 4 behind Steven Gerrard (92).
At the time of writing, Manchester United and Wales legend Ryan Giggs leads the way in Premier League assists with no less than 162 during his 24 year spell playing for the Red Devils. Cesc Fabregas is second with 111, while Wayne Rooney is third on this all-time list for assists with 103.
As mentioned before, Kevin De Bruyne is level with Frank Lampard with 102 assists. However, since the Belgian midfield maestro is still playing, he will likely climb the all-time assist rankings for whatever remains of his career in the Premier League. The same goes for James Milner, although with retirement potentially coming soon, he may not have the time left in his career to climb much higher than 9th (88).
