The Scottish Open attracts a world class field every year. In 2024, not only were 13 of the players in the World’s top 20, 6 of them were amongst the top ten players in the world. The field included the likes of Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Wyndham Clark, as well as Robert MacIntyre and rising star Tom Kim.

Thousands of spectators flocked to The Renaissance Club, near North Berwick, for the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open to see home favourite Robert MacIntyre claim what was a famous victory. MacIntyre defeated runner-up Adam Scott by just a single stroke after the Scot managed to get a crucial birdie on the very last hole to claim a dramatic maiden Rolex Series title in the 2024 Scottish Open.

Home favourite MacIntyre will be returning to defend his title at the 2025 Scottish Open at the legendary Renaissance Club, where the Scot will be looking to retain his title.

This year, the defending champion will be joined by the likes of 2014 Champion Justin Rose, as well as Max Homa, and Byeong Hun An.

It has also been announced that the likes of Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas will all also be competing for this year’s Scottish Open title.

Rory McIlroy, the reigning Champion of The Masters, will be competing in this prestigious tournament following his incredible success at Augusta.

It could not have been more dramatic, with the action taking place in front of some of our ecstatic clients viewing from the sun terrace on The Green on 18 facility.

In 2025, you can enjoy all the golfing excitement from within the Green On 18, a wonderful facility that provides a perfect base for the day, complete with access to the greenside terrace overlooking the 18th.

The Scottish Open returns to the Renaissance Club

Entertain your guests in unrivalled style this year when the highly anticipated Genesis Scottish Open returns in July 2025, while enjoying an all-inclusive and exclusive hospitality experience at the Renaissance Club. Action in next year’s tournament will be taking place from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th July 2025.

The Scottish Open attracts a world-class field every year as golfers such as Justin Rose, Bernd Wiesberger, and Lee Westwood have been winners of the Scottish Open. The field in 2024 featured 13 of the top 20 players in the world, and 6 of them featured in the World Top Ten – this saw some incredible golf being played throughout the four days.

Thousands of spectators flocked to the Tom Doak-designed course for the 2024 Open, and in 2025, the tournament looks set to attract tens of thousands of people once more as they all look to enjoy the world-class golf on offer.

In 2025, you can enjoy all the golfing excitement from within the Green on 18, a wonderful facility that provides the perfect base for the day, complete with access to the greenside terrace overlooking the 18th.

The Scottish Open returns to the Renaissance Club in North Berwick for a sixth consecutive year, and fans of the sport can expect to see high-quality golfing in 2025.

The Renaissance Club is ideally located 33km east of Edinburgh, a characteristic city that has a rich history revolving around Scotland’s Royal Family. There is also plenty of free parking on-site for those travelling to the Scottish Open from far and wide.

The Scottish Open was established in 1972 and is typically held the week before the historic Open Championship, with many golfers treating the tournament as the warm-up for that major.

The player who has won the Scottish Open the most is Wales’ Ian Woosnam, who has won this tournament a total of 3 times. His first came in 1987 when he emerged victorious after beating Australia’s Peter Senior by 7 strokes.

His second, in 1990, saw him beat Mark McNulty by 4 strokes on the King’s Course at Gleneagles. Woosnam’s third came 6 years later in 1996, where he was able to beat Andrew Coltart by 4 strokes.

The 2025 Scottish Open will once again be co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour – increasing its profile even further.

This tournament already attracts some of the world’s best golf players, including the likes of Robert MacIntyre, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele.

The most recent Scottish Open in 2024 saw the home favourite Robert MacIntyre win the highly prestigious Championship. The Scot’s victory was by the narrowest of margins, with his birdie on the 18th and final hole seeing him emerge victorious over runner-up Adam Scott. MacIntyre ended up finishing 18 under par, whilst Scott was just behind him on 17 under par.

Unfortunately for 2023 winner Rory McIlroy, he had to settle for joint fourth place after finishing at 14 under par.

There was plenty of prize money on offer to the 2024 field, with no less than $9 million (Ā£6.92 million) on offer, which would be split between the whole field. As the winner, Robert MacIntyre collected no less than $1.62 million (Ā£1.24 million) in prize money, whilst Adam Scott in second place earned a grand total of $981,000 (Ā£755,404). Romain Langasque came in third place, with the Frenchman earning $621,000 (Ā£478,138) as a result.

After an incredible tournament, it came down to the 18th and final hole, and it would be either Australia’s Adam Scott or Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre who would come out on top victorious in the end. Thanks to a crucial birdie, it was the home favourite, Robert MacIntyre, who claimed the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open title, finishing on 18 under par. Meanwhile, Scott had to settle for second place, with him on 17 under par.

In 2025, home favourite Robert MacIntyre will be returning to the Renaissance Club and have the opportunity to defend his title in the latest Scottish Open. His win in 2024 was a momentous one for the Scot’s career to date, as this was his first-ever Rolex Series title.

Other big names taking part in this year’s Scottish Open will include Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Max Homa, Byeong Hun An, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas.

Starting with Rory McIlroy, he is the reigning Champion of The Masters, having won the Green Jacket for the very first time in his illustrious career at the iconic Augusta earlier on this year. He will be looking for further success when he takes part in this famous tournament at the Renaissance Club in July.

Moving on to Justin Rose, he is a former Scottish Open Champion, having won it back in back in 2014 at 16 under par, which saw him as the comfortable winner that year with Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg having to settle for a second place finish in the end. He also won the US Open in 2013, whilst also winning an Olympic Gold Medal later on in 2016. Not only that, Rose is also a four time winner of the Ryder Cup.

As for Max Homa, he more than made a name of himself in the most recent Ryder Cup with the US Team which included the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele. His par on the 18th hole kept his country’s hopes of victory alive, but they did go on to be defeated by Team Europe. He also won the Nedbank Golf Challenge in November 2023.

As for Byeong Hun An, he has a total of two European Tour wins to his name. His first came back in 2015, when he won the BMW PGA Championship by a margin of 6 strokes, with Thongchai Jaidee and Miguel Angel Jimenez both settling for a second place finish in the end.

Then in the 2023 Genesis Championship in South Korea where he competed alongside Tom Kim. Kim ended up as the runner-up, with Byeong Hun An emerging victorious via a play-off, which he won against Kim thanks to a birdie on the first extra hole.

Moving on to Matt Fitzpatrick, he has previously competed in this tournament on numerous occasions, and the closest he has come to victory came in 2o21, when he finished as the runner-up alongside Belgium’s Thomas Detry. It was Australia’s Min Woo Lee who won that year, and Fitzpatrick will hope to go one better in 2025.

Collin Morikawa returns after competing in 2024, where we came joint fourth place, alongside the likes of Ludvig Aberg, Sungjae Im, Rory McIlroy, Aaron Rai, and Sahith Theegala. This year, he will be looking to do even better and climb that leaderboard.

Justin Thomas did also compete in the most recent Scottish Open, but he could only finish joint 62nd alongside the likes of fellow American Stewart Cink and Germany’s Marcel Siem. The two time PGA Championship winner (2017 & 2022) will be looking to compete for glory at the famous Renaissance Club in 2025.

MacIntyre’s victory in the 2024 Scottish Open saw him climb up to 16th in the World Rankings, having previously been down in 44th place.

Last year did see six of the top ten players in the world take part, and in 2025 another field of world class players will be converging on the iconic Renaissance Club for another four days of enthralling action.
