New England Patriots vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

The Patriots and the Jaguars will be going toe to toe in what looks set to be an enthralling NFL contest between these two teams at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

The third NFL match taking place in London will be played between the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars under the famous arch of the iconic Wembley Stadium on Sunday 20th October 2024. The action in the English Capital will get underway at 14:30 (9:30 am EDT in USA) on Sunday afternoon.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have already played in London this season, having gone head to head with the Chicago Bears, who defeated them 16 – 35 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.

In previous years, the Jaguars have played in London a number of times before returning earlier this month. They first came to the UK in 2013, being beaten 42 – 10 by the San Francisco 49ers before returning to London a year later, losing 31 – 17 to the Dallas Cowboys on 9th November 2014.

The Jaguars got their first win in Britain at Wembley Stadium against the Buffalo Bills on 25th October 2015, beating the Bills 31 – 34 in what was a tight and competitive game. In 2016, they won again in the UK, this time beating the Indianapolis Colts 27 – 30 under the famous Wembley arch.

Back in 2017, the Jags faced the Baltimore Ravens on 24th September at Wembley, this time winning in emphatic fashion, beating the Ravens by a margin of 7 – 44. 2018 saw the Jacksonville Jaguars get defeated 24 – 18 in a tight game in the English Capital.

2019 saw them lose 26 – 3 to the Houston Texans in November of that year, before bouncing back in London on 17th October 2021 by beating the Miami Dolphins 20 – 23 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. No NFL Games had of course been played in London in 2020 due to the global pandemic.

In 2022, the Jags came toe to toe with the Denver Broncos at Wembley, being beaten 21 – 17 in October of that year. Last year, they faced the Buffalo Bills at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, beating them 25 – 20.

Moving on to the New England Patriots, this game against the Jags will be their first in London in 2024. This will be the third time overall that the Patriots have played an NFL Regular Season Match in the English Capital.

The first NFL game that the Patriots played in London was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all the way back on 25th October 2009, beating the Buccaneers in emphatic fashion by a margin of 35 – 7 at the famous Wembley Stadium.

The Patriots then returned to London a few years later in 2012, where they were emphatic winners once again, this time by beating the St. Louis Rams 45 – 7 in a game that took place at Wembley, 3 years after they last played there, which was the first.

This game in 2024 will be the first time that the New England Patriots will have returned to London since playing their 12 years before then.

Starting with the New England Patriots, they were defeated 21 – 41 by the Houston Texans in their most recent 2024/25 NFL Regular Season Fixture at the Gillette Stadium. As for the Jacksonville Jaguars, their most recent game saw them lose at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their previous NFL London Fixture against the Chicago Bears, who beat them 35 – 16.

The Patriots’ most recent victory in the NFL Regular Season was against the Cincinnati Bengals in September, beating them 10 – 16 at the Paul Brown Stadium. As for the Jags, their last victory came against the Indianapolis Colts earlier in October, beating the Colts 37 – 34 in what was a tight and highly competitive contest at the TIAA Bank Field.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots’ most recent NFL Meeting came back on 2^nd January 2022, when the Patriots were able to emerge as emphatic 50 – 10 winners in this particular encounter.

The only time that the Jaguars have beaten the Patriots was back on 16^th September 2018, when the Jags were 31 – 20 winners at the TIAA Bank Field.
