Wales most recently took part in the prestigious Autumn Internationals back in 2024, when they came up against the likes of Fiji, Australia, and South Africa. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure victories, although they were only narrowly beaten by Fiji in their opening game last year.

In the 2025 Autumn Internationals, Wales will be looking to build some momentum, and their first opponents at the Principality Stadium will see them go head to head with Argentina in Cardiff. In the history of this fixture, the two nations have met just 22 times so far in all competitions, and it is Wales with the superior number of victories to date with no less than 14 compared with just 7 for their Southern Hemisphere opponents.

Wales and Argentina first met in competitive action at Cardiff Arms Park on 9th October 1991 during that year’s Rugby World Cup, and it was to be a comfortable 16 – 7 victory for the hosts. This began a streak of five wins in a row for Wales, which lasted from 9th October until 1st October 1995. They were beaten for the first time by Argentina on 10th November 2001.

The most recent competitive meeting between these two nations took place in the 2023 Rugby World Cup back on 14th October 2023 in France. The game took place at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, and unfortunately for Wales, it was to be a 17 – 29 victory for Argentina on that day.

Wales’ most recent win against Argentina was on 12th November 2022 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, where the hosts were able to beat them 20 – 13 on that particular occasion.
