England did win the first ever competitive clash between England and Ireland in the 1874/75 Home Nations Internationals at The Oval in London on 15th February 1875. It was a game that saw a crowd of 3,000 in attendance.

This began a spectacular run of 11 wins and 1 draw for England between 15th February 1875 and 6th February 1886.

And, in more recent times, England did go on a sensational streak of four wins in a row in all competitions between 2nd February 2019 and 21st November 2020. This included an emphatic 57 – 15 victory at the Twickenham Stadium, as well as a 20 – 32 triumph at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
