Steve Borthwick and his England team are going to be taking on their rivals Wales at the iconic and historic Twickenham Stadium as part of their highly anticipated 2026 Guinness Six Nations campaign. The date for this clash sees it taking place in what is going to be a 16:40 kick-off on the afternoon of Saturday 7th February 2026. Following the departure of Eddie Jones, it was Steve Borthwick who was chosen by the RFU to succeed him in the honour of being England’s Head Coach. This appointment took place on Monday 19th December 2022, and Borthwick will be looking to lead his team all the way to lifting the 2026 Six Nations.

In the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, England did get a spectacular victory against France, who they were able to beat 26 – 25 spectacularly in the end at Twickenham. It was a late try from Elliot Daly that sealed the win in the end for the hosts, and it was a triumph that provided fresh optimism for the remainder of the campaign.

Wales’ most recent competitive victory against England took place back on 27th February 2021 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff during that year’s Six Nations. It was a comfortable 40 – 24 victory in the end in the Welsh Capital.

Despite this victory, Wales have recently struggled for any victories against England. England beat them 23 – 19 in the 2022 Six Nations Championship, before going on to secure 10 – 20 and 16 – 14 wins in the 2023 and 2024 Guinness Six Nations Championships respectively.

Also, between 12th March 2016 and 10th February 2018, England won all four of these games which included a 25 – 21 win in the 2016 Six Nations Championship and a 12 – 6 victory in the Six Nations back in 2018.

England also won the first ever competitive game between themselves and Wales all the way back on 19th February 1881 during the 1880/81 Home Nations International games. It was a game that took place at Richardson’s Field in Blackheath, London.
