The iconic PDC World Darts Championship will return once more to the Alexandra Palace later on this year, where legends of the sport will compete alongside rising stars for one of the sport’s most prestigious prizes at Ally Pally.

In the 2025 Final, Luke Littler sensationally lifted his first ever World Darts Championship at Ally Pally after beating the vastly experience Michael van Gerwen in what was an enthralling and exciting Final, where Littler was able to emerge with a 7 – 3 victory. In doing so, he broke van Gerwen’s own record of being the youngest ever World Championship by no less than 7 years, winning the title at the age of 17, whilst the previous record held by his Dutch opponent was 24. Littler had gone one better than last season, where he had narrowly lost out to Luke Humphries aged 16.

Alexandra Palace, better known as Ally Pally, has been hosting this competition since 2008 when it took over from Circus Tavern, which had been the host venue since the first ever World Championship 30 years ago in 1994.

This was Humphries’ first ever win in this competition, and he has some way to go to match or beat the record of the most successful player in the history of this tournament. This player is Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, who has 14 wins in a legendary career: 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2013.

Over the course of a 35 year career, Taylor has won no less than a sensational 85 major titles, making him quite rightly one of the best players in the history of the sport of darts.
